H&M Design Award 2012

H&M Design Award 2013

This year’s H&M Design Awards expanded its reach, inviting students from 19 major fashion colleges in eight European countries to participate. The creativity, attitude and high standard of the entries on display was impressive. Twenty-four students were given the opportunity to come to Stockholm to meet with H&M’s Head of Design Ann-Sofie Johansson and members of the design team. Ann-Sofie and the team then decided which eight candidates would proceed to the grand final in London. In London a jury of industry professionals judged each of the finalists and chose the winner. All finalists were given €5,000 to develop their ideas, boost their creativity, and showcase the full extent of their talents.

The winner of the H&M Design Award 2013 will be announced January 29, 11:30 a.m. at the Mercedes-Benz Stockholm Fashion Week as they host their own catwalk show. He or she will also receive a €50,000 cash prize and develop pieces from their collection to be sold at selected H&M stores during autumn 2013.

On the website you can read about the grand jury, watch a live stream of the event, and look at the finalists’ collections. When browsing the collections don’t forget to give some love and likes to your favorite, and show who you would like to see win the People’s Prize. This year’s People’s Prize winner will get a month’s internship at Jonathan Saunders in London.
